Planet Zoo 2 release date, platforms and PC requirements

Frontier’s Help page lists 13 October 2026 for the digital release and 20 October for the physical edition. Steam lists the PC product separately, so use the actual store page for the version you intend to buy. A store date and a preload window are different pieces of information.

The announced platforms are PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Frontier says there are no current plans for previous-generation consoles, Nintendo Switch 2 or macOS. It has announced GeForce NOW support. The Help page does not announce Game Pass or PlayStation Plus availability, so do not count on a subscription providing the game.

Players have been asking about PS5 preload availability. For that task, use your PlayStation product page and library rather than applying a PC download time to the console edition. We do not publish an exact preload hour that we cannot verify.

Compare your processor, graphics card, memory, operating system and free storage. Matching only the graphics card is not enough. Frontier lists DirectX 12 and 40 GB of storage for both specification tiers, with an SSD recommended at minimum and required at the recommended tier.

Frontier also warns that ongoing Windows 10 compatibility is not guaranteed after Microsoft’s end of support. These are the published requirements, not our benchmark results. Zoo size, scene complexity, settings and later updates can affect performance. Allow additional disk headroom for downloading and updating; the published storage figure is not a promise about every future installation.

Frontier says you can play offline once the game has been downloaded, while online features such as Workshop access need an internet connection. Plan to download any community blueprints you want before going offline.

Planet Zoo 2 does not have multiplayer, according to the official Help page. Cross-platform blueprint sharing is a sharing feature, not simultaneous cooperative zoo building. If your plan is to build one park together in a live session, do not assume that the Workshop provides that capability.

Frontier lists controller and mouse-and-keyboard support across the announced platforms. Console editions use a complexity meter. If you are planning an especially large zoo on console, keep that limit in mind instead of treating a PC creator’s preview build as a capacity guarantee.

1. Confirm the product says Planet Zoo 2 and matches your device.
2. Choose Standard or Deluxe based on the included animals.
3. On PC, compare every row of the specification table with your system.
4. Check the store for download, unlock and refund terms.
5. Prepare a small first-zoo checklist so your first session starts with a manageable build.
